The MicroBIS is a personal imaging and gel documentation system for colorimetric and fluorescent applications. The instrument is compact, cost-effective and easy-to-use.
Compact
The instrument’s small footprint saves valuable laboratory space. The absence of any moving parts guarantee maintenance free operation.
Illumination
The illumination is unique as blue LED light sources are integrated. There is no need for any safety precautions.
Applications
Quantitation of nucleic acid, protein stains and lables compatible with excitation of UV or blue light (470nm), including Ethidium Bromide, SYBR Green®, SYBR Safe® , SYBR Gold®, CBB, Silver Stain and more.
Software
The MicroBIS will be delivered standardly with two software packages, GelCapture for imaging acquisition and GelQuant Express for image analysis. GelCapture offers complete, automatic control of configuring, capturing, and saving sample images for analysis. GelCapture offers all important image settings adjustable as illumination, focus, brightness, binning and many more. The software packages GelQuant or TL-100 can be ordered additionally for advanced image analysis. GelQuant enables researchers to detect and analyze lanes and bands - even on distorted gel images. The software automatically calculates molecular weights of the bands according to the standard marker lane.
A wide range of analysis tools are available as rotating and adjusting the image, background reducing and saving into different image formats (BMP, PNG, TIFF, JPG and DIB). One year licence of the Bio Notebook will be delivered with the MicroBIS, too. This software allows the researcher to gather, store and share experimental data.
