The personal contamination monitors LB 145 and LB 146 comply with or exceed the requirements of IEC 1098. This is true in particular for the detector performance, the manufacturers’ calibration procedures and the determination of counting efficiencies.
LB145 probes
The counters with integrated preamplifier, Xenon as counting gas and a window of titanium foil with a density of 5 mg/cm².
LB146 probes
The counter tubes are large area proportional counters with a window foil of 0.4 mg/cm² aluminated plastic and an integrated preamplifier, operated in the gas flow mode. As counting gas, the non-explosive and inflammable mixture of Ar/CO2 with 18% Co2 share is recommended. However, the monitor LB 146 can also be operated with the more common P-10 gas, a mixture of 90% Ar and 10 % methane. Thanks to the electronically controlled gas flow regulation, the gas consumption is reduced to about 1 to 2 litres per hour.
LCD colour display
The VGA compatible LCD colour display measures 195 mm x 145 mm. An external video monitor is optional.
