Fields of application

Milk of Lime (MOL) is a suspension of calcium hydroxide in water which is produced in the slaker. The mixture ratio of quick lime and water should be mainained in a range to achieve a MOL with a nominal dry substance of 42 %.
With a real time measurement, the process can be controlled and operated uninterrupted, without expensive downtime or delays. The LB 565 in combination with a container probe or FlowCell can be used in the slaker (or after the slaker) to control the quality of the MOL. This reliable and accurate equipment helps to monitor and control the amount of water or sweet juice required to produce high quality MOL - thus increasing process efficiency.
