The LB 6701-H10 is an Ionisation chamber used for dose rate measurements in various radiation protection applications. The measured quantity is ambient dose equivalent H*(10) and ambient dose rate equivalent Ḣ*(10).
Ionisation chamber is made from Aluminium, with a Nitrogen gas filling and a radiation resistance up to 106 Gy.
The ionisation chamber exists in 3 versions:
Depending on the version of the Ionisation Chamber the Nitrogen gas filling varies in the inside of the chamber: 10 bar for LB 6701L-H10 & LB 6701M-H10 and 1 bar forLB 6701H-H10.
The chamber current is propotional to the dose rate, this current is converted into a +11 V Norm pulse frequency in the Current/Frequency converter LB 3856-24 (LB 6701L-H10) or LB 3856-23 (LB 6701M-H10 & LB 6701H-H10).
The Current/Frequency converter is mounted in a separate housing LB 6703 which also contains the High Voltage module to operate the Ionisation Chamber.
A 90Sr check source is built in the Ionisation Chamber to continuously monitor the proper functioning of the system. The activity of the source is depending on the version of the Ionisation Chamber: 2.5 kBq for LB 6701L-H10, 25 kBq for LB 6701M-H10 and 50 kBq for LB 6701H-H10.
