Mr. Dobratz introduced our company to the minister and, also emphasised our role as a supplier for vaccine manufacturers to fight the pandemic. Afterwards, a lively discussion took place that focused on the challenges medium-sized companies are facing in an environment dominated by large corporations. Minister Hoffmeister-Kraut emphasised that in most EU countries there is no such thing as the German mid-sized sector, which does not exactly make targeted promotion easier. Mr. Dobratz added that although small companies with up to 50 employees and large corporations receive support, companies of our size fall through the cracks. Ms Hoffmeister-Kraut then promised that her ministry would provide advice on various EU-wide funding opportunities for our company.
Finally, the necessary adaptation of the economy with regards to the fight against climate change and the associated greenhouse gas targets was discussed. Ms Hoffmeister-Kraut emphasised how important it is for our economy to remain competitive in this changing environment. Only if this path can be successfully financed and businesses and jobs preserved, will nature and the environment be served and saved in the end.
