AOS - Activity Optimized Source

By optimizing the activity distribution in the rod sources for the mold level measurement, we significantly increase the accu­racy in the upper part of the measuring range. This minimizes the statistical noise without increasing the overall activity of the source.
If you are content with your current accuracy, AOS can be used to reduce the source activity while maintaining the same accuracy. Depending on the application, this may allow for the use of a smaller shield. In many cases, the more cost-efficient lead shield may be used instead of tungsten.

Unique rod source quality!

Co-60 rod sources are used as a standard in mold level measurements. The special feature: the activity is customized and continually distributed across the rod length, only possible with Berthold's unique manufacturing process. The custom and continual distribution of activity across the measuring range ensures the best measurement accuracy.
