When Prof. Dr. Rudolf Berthold set up his laboratory in a former hotel in Bad Wildbad in 1949, nobody could guess what an exciting journey we were about to embark on.

2019 - Berthold Technologies acquires mab solutions GmbH
The acquisition of mab solutions strengthens our leadership in radiation protection by adding full-body contamination monitors and stationary vehicle portal measuring systems to the portfolio.
2017 - Berthold Technologies and Titertek-Berthold join forces
The merger with Berthold Detection Systems (Titertek-Berthold) adds high performance bench-top instruments and lab automation solutions to the Berthold Bioanalytic product portfolio.
2016 - setting new standards in radio HPLC detection
Introduction of the FlowStar² LB 514 Radio HPLC Detector, combining ultimate sensitivity with touch-screen technology.
2016 - welcoming S-Tec Sensor Technology AS
The Norwegian specialist for nucleonic gauges S-Tec joins the Berthold family, bringing vast experience in the oil & gas industry.
2003 - unparalleled sensitivity
The radiometric SuperSens detector enables source activity reduction by up to 80% as a result of its outstanding sensitivity.
2000 - independent again
Repurchase of the company by Dr. Fritz Berthold (left) and family as well as Hans J. Oberhofer (right). Continuation of the business under the name of Berthold Technologies GmbH & Co. KG.
1988 - setting standards in in vivo imaging
First in vivo imaging system Luminograph LB 980.
1989 - the Perkin Elmer years
Incorporation into the American technology group EG&G - later Perkin Elmer.
1986 - on the trail of Chernobyl radioactivity
Introduction of the LB 200 Becquerel Monitor for activity measurement in foodstuffs.
1977 - first professional luminometer
Berthold introduces the first professional tube Luminometer, the Biolumat LB 9500.
1960 - first surface contamination monitor
Berthold introduces the LB 1200 - the first contamination monitor with end-window counter tube.
1952 - first tolerance doserate meter
TOL/A and TOL/F tolerance doserate meters for quantitative intensity measurement of X-rays and gamma rays, based on the wavelength-independent counter tube from Prof. Dr. Trost.
1950 - we set new standards
Berthold introduces the first industrial radiometric measuring system globally.
1949 - the founding
Prof. Dr. Rudolf Berthold founds the company under the name "Laboratorium Prof. Dr. Rudolf Berthold" in Bad Wildbad.
